HSA meetings are held every second Sunday of the month
at JP Hops House, 2317 S. Highway 6 (one block North of Westheimer).
(map)
Critique sessions begin at 1:30pm and are followed by a live
original music showcase at 4:00pm.
If you would like to participate in a critique session, bring
25 copies of your lyric sheet and a recording of your song. The
recording need not be 'studio' quality, but the lyrics should
be easily discernable over the music. Production critiques may
also be requested. Lyric sheets will be returned to the writer
with comments at the end of each song. |
|
Critique sessions are a valuable tool if you are stuck
in 'second verse hell'. It's not co-writing, but co-write relationships
are often formed between lyricists and composers at the meetings.
Our goal as songwriters is to elevate our craft, and to help
each other improve as songwriters. If you believe a hit songs
lives somewhere inside you, the HSA is ready to assist. |
